Miss Jordan Rodrigues
Owner/Director & Dance Instructor
Miss Jordan is the woman behind it all! With a passion for this community like no other, she pours her heart and soul into making Empowered Movement a special place. Her classes overflow with positivity, encouragement, knowledge, and a feeling of belonging for every person who steps through the door.
Welcome to Empowered Movement's 4th season! I'm so proud of the community we've built. As a dancer, dance educator, mental health counselor, and dance/movement therapist, it's my pleasure to welcome you to a space to dance, play, and connect. My love for dance took me through the studio, college (BA in Dance Performance), and prestigious dance intensives and festivals, before I fell in love with teaching in 2014, through studios, schools (Chance to Dance, RI Dance Alliance), and community programs. In 2020, I completed my MA in Mental Health Counseling with a specialization in Dance/Movement Therapy, and have worked since in inpatient, outpatient, and school settings. It was becoming a mom that helped me bring it all together: dance, wellness, connection, and joy. I hope you love it as much as I do!

My name is Ms. Carrie, and I have been dancing for 25 years. I bring my love for theatre and storytelling into everything I do! I just recently moved from Alabama, but back in the Gulf Coast region, I worked as a choreographer for local children's and community theaters, a dance teacher at many dance studios, and a performer. Whether working with children or adults, I'm dedicated to using dance as a form of expression, storytelling, and fun!

Miss Sara
Dance Instructor
Miss Sara's class is a special one! Teaching our littlest friends, she has a certain magic and sparkle about her teaching. She is such a kind and friendly soul, with a deep love for dance and for instructing. Our little ones adore Miss Sara, and you will too!
Hi, I'm Miss Sara! Proving that you can start dance at any age, I first stepped into the studio at 16 and quickly found my new passion. I went on to minor in dance at Salve Regina University, with a primary focus on tap. I found a wonderful space to move with passion at Empowered Movement, starting with adult tap classes, and then finding my way into the Empowered family. I'll be teaching classes on Saturdays, and I'm excited to be working with our littlest friends! Outside of the studio, I love teaching my daughter to dance and have a strong passion for my career as a 1:1 teacher for a student with autism. Finding a nurturing and loving environment at Empowered Movement has been a lucky and wonderful experience, and I can't wait to share that with my dancers!
Classes: Groovin' with my Grownup, Creative Movement, Tiny Tumblers (Saturday), Tiny Tappers, Ballet
